Officer Ham and his wife, Brittannie, gave birth to their little girl, Sydney Marie, a month early via C-section on 4/19/2018. The pregnancy was complicated due to a large ovarian cyst that developed quickly and prevented Sydney from dropping. The cyst was biopsied during the C-section and they were informed a few days after their daughter’s birth that the cyst was malignant. It was ultimately diagnosed as Clear Cell carcinoma, a form of Ovarian Cancer, which is an aggressive and extremely rare type of cancer for someone Brittannie’s age. A month after giving birth, she underwent a full hysterectomy to remove the cancerous mass and to begin a long road of recovery and additional treatment, all while having a newborn at home to take care of.
Their main goal is to raise enough funds to help with medical/treatment costs, childcare, and potential living expenses, since Brittannie will unable to return to work until further notice. The Ham’s were informed at their first chemotherapy treatment that a foundation for my type of cancer doesn’t exist, which means that the financial assistance we receive for my treatments will be limited to our health insurance and savings. Please share the GoFundMe link above and contribute to the fund to help the Ham family while they cope with the overwhelming situation.
